Infospace
Infospace was an American internet services company founded in 1996. Initially, it focused on providing internet portal services, including search engines, email, and news. The company's business model evolved over time, and it became known for operating and licensing a variety of web properties and mobile applications. Infospace partnered with numerous other companies, providing them with white-label technology and services. This allowed smaller internet providers and mobile carriers to offer their own branded web experiences. In the early 2000s, Infospace was a significant player in the online search and portal market, though it faced intense competition from larger rivals. The company also ventured into areas like mobile games and entertainment. In 2020, Infospace was acquired by OpenText Corporation, a Canadian software company. Following the acquisition, Infospace's operations and assets were integrated into OpenText's broader portfolio. The Infospace brand and its associated services have since been largely subsumed under the OpenText umbrella.
