Inertiaalike is a Finnish-language term that translates to "inertia key" or "inertia lock". It refers to a type of mechanism found in certain types of firearms, particularly older models of revolvers. The primary function of an inertiaalike is to prevent the firing pin from striking the primer unless the hammer is fully cocked and the trigger is deliberately pulled. This is achieved through a system of levers and springs that disengage the firing pin from the hammer's path until the final stages of the trigger pull.

The inertiaalike acts as a safety feature, designed to reduce the risk of accidental discharge. If the firearm were to be dropped or subjected to a sharp impact, the inertia of the inertiaalike mechanism would theoretically prevent the hammer from falling forward with enough force to ignite the primer.
