Industrimarks
Industrimarks are a type of soil found in industrial areas or heavily impacted urban environments. They are characterized by a complex and often heterogeneous composition, resulting from decades of human activity, pollution, and altered natural processes. These soils typically contain elevated levels of contaminants such as heavy metals (lead, zinc, cadmium), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and other industrial byproducts. The physical properties can also be significantly altered, with compaction, reduced organic matter content, and altered drainage patterns being common. The presence of debris, ash, and construction waste is also frequently observed.
The formation of industrimarks is a direct consequence of historical industrial practices, waste disposal, and atmospheric
The ecological implications of industrimarks are significant. The high concentration of contaminants can render these soils
