Inderøy

Inderøy is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway, located in the historic Innherred district. It lies along the Trondheimsfjord on the Inderøya peninsula and includes coastal areas as well as inland farmland and wooded hills. The administrative centre is the village of Straumen. The area comprises several settlements and forms part of the cultural and agricultural heartland of the region.

Historically, Inderøy was established as a municipality in the 1830s under the formannskapsdistrikt law. In 2018, it became part of the newly formed Trøndelag county, following the regional reform that merged the former Nord- and Sør-Trøndelag. The landscape and cultural heritage include medieval church sites, with Mære Church noted as a historic landmark within the municipality.

Economy and demographics: The local economy is dominated by agriculture, including dairy farming and crop production, complemented by small-scale industry, services, and some fishing activity.
