ImageHDUs

ImageHDUs are a fundamental component within the High-Level Architecture (HLA) for simulation interoperability. They represent High-Level Data Units, specifically designed for the transmission of image data between federates in a distributed simulation environment. ImageHDUs encapsulate raw image data, along with associated metadata, enabling simulations to share and process visual information seamlessly.

The structure of an ImageHDU typically includes the pixel data itself, often in a common format like TIFF or JPEG, although other formats may be supported depending on the specific HLA implementation. Crucially, it also contains metadata that describes the image. This metadata can include information such as image resolution, color depth, compression type, timestamp, and potentially sensor origin or acquisition parameters.
