Ilindens refers to the Ilinden Uprising, a significant event in Macedonian and Bulgarian history. The uprising began on August 2, 1903 (July 20 according to the Julian calendar), coinciding with the Orthodox Christian feast day of Saint Elijah the Prophet, known as Ilinden in Macedonian and Bulgarian.
