Ikejas

Ikejas is a term used for the residents and the area of Ikeja, a city and local government area in Lagos State, Nigeria. Located on the Lagos Mainland, Ikeja is a major administrative and commercial district within the state.

The LGA of Ikeja is one of the 20 local government areas of Lagos State, and the area hosts important government facilities in Alausa, including the Lagos State Secretariat and several ministries.

The area is a major economic hub, featuring markets, malls, and the tech-driven Computer Village, a widely known electronics and information technology market. The Murtala Muhammed International Airport, the primary international gateway to Nigeria, sits within the Ikeja area, near the Ikeja Cantonment.

Residential neighborhoods include the historic Ikeja GRA (Government Reserve Area) and surrounding communities.

Ikejas are ethnically diverse, with Yoruba as the majority language alongside English and other Nigerian languages. The district is served by major road networks connecting to central Lagos and other areas, and it enjoys proximity to the airport and the city’s business districts.
