Iisalmi
Iisalmi is a town and municipality in Northern Savonia, Finland. It is located in the eastern part of the country, approximately 100 kilometers north of Kuopio. The population of Iisalmi is around 10,500 people. The town is situated on the northern shore of Lake Porovesi, which is part of the larger Kymijoki river system.
The history of Iisalmi dates back to the 17th century, when it began as a market town.
