Idrimi

Idrimi was a king of Alalakh, an ancient city in the Levant, whose reign is thought to have occurred in the mid-15th century BCE. His life and reign are primarily known from an autobiographical inscription found on a statue discovered in the ruins of Alalakh, a unique and valuable source for understanding the history of the period.

According to the inscription, Idrimi was the son of the king of Aleppo. He was forced to flee his homeland after his father's death, when his uncle, [name of uncle], seized the throne. Idrimi spent his youth in exile, living among the Habiru people. Eventually, he gathered a following and, with the aid of the Hittites, was able to reclaim his ancestral throne in Alalakh.

The inscription also details his extensive building projects in Alalakh, including fortifications and temples, indicating a prosperous and well-organized kingdom.
