Identitástudat

Identitástudat is a Hungarian term that translates to "identity consciousness" or "awareness of identity." It refers to an individual's subjective understanding and recognition of their own self, including their personal characteristics, values, beliefs, social roles, and group affiliations. This consciousness develops over time and is influenced by a complex interplay of personal experiences, social interactions, and cultural contexts.

The concept of identitástudat encompasses both the cognitive and emotional aspects of self-perception. It involves an awareness of who one is in relation to others, as well as a sense of continuity and coherence of self across different situations and over time. This can include recognizing one's gender, ethnicity, nationality, profession, personal interests, and moral principles.
