Iblas

Iblas, also known as Iblis or Satan, is a prominent figure in Islamic theology. He is described as a jinn who was cast out of paradise for refusing to obey Allah's command to prostrate before Adam. This act of defiance is central to the narrative of his rejection and his subsequent role as a tempter of humanity.

According to Islamic tradition, Iblis was created from smokeless fire. His pride and envy led him to believe he was superior to Adam, who was created from clay. This refusal to submit to Allah's will marked his eternal damnation. Consequently, Iblis vowed to mislead as many humans as possible, leading them away from the path of righteousness and towards disbelief and sin.

His primary function in Islamic eschatology is to serve as the adversary of mankind, constantly whispering temptations and doubts into human hearts. He is not considered an equal to Allah, but rather a creature who has rebelled against his creator and is therefore an instrument of testing for believers. Muslims are warned to be vigilant against his temptations and to seek refuge in Allah from his influence. The Quran frequently mentions Iblis and his schemes.
