Iberis
Iberis is a genus of flowering plants in the family Brassicaceae, native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa. The genus includes about 100 species, with the most well-known being Iberis sempervirens, commonly known as everlasting or winter heath. Iberis plants are herbaceous perennials, typically growing to a height of 10-50 cm. They have simple, alternate leaves and small, yellow or white flowers arranged in racemes or cymes. The flowers are typically four-petaled, with a central pistil surrounded by four stamens. The fruit is a silicle, which splits open to release numerous seeds. Iberis plants are often used in gardens and landscaping for their attractive flowers and low maintenance requirements. They are also valued for their ability to thrive in poor soil and drought conditions. Some species of Iberis are invasive in certain regions, and care should be taken when introducing them to new areas.
