The most well-known among these standards is the IPTC Photo Metadata standard, which allows for embedding descriptive information directly into image files. This metadata can include details such as the creator, caption, keywords, location, date created, and copyright information.

The IPTC standards aim to facilitate the efficient management, retrieval, and syndication of digital content, especially within the news and publishing industries.
