IIItür

IIItür is a constructed language created as a third-generation development of the Tür language family. It is designed to test and extend morphosyntactic patterns found in natural languages, while providing a consistent, learnable grammar for experimentation in linguistics and speculative fiction.

Origins and development: The project emerged from a collaborative linguistics initiative focused on conlangs, with initial sketches released in the mid-2010s. The name signals its position as an evolution beyond earlier Tür varieties, incorporating larger phonotactic inventory and a more elaborate case and mood system.

Phonology and writing: IIItür uses a Latin-based alphabet with diacritics, notably ü, to indicate rounded front vowels. It employs vowel harmony based on backness and rounding, and a relatively small consonant inventory with optional gemination. Stress is phonemic and generally falls on the penultimate syllable.

Grammar: The language is primarily agglutinative with SOV word order. It features a rich case system, evidential mood, and complex verb affixes for tense, aspect, and modality. Noun incorporation and configurational rules allow long noun phrases to be built up through affixation.

Usage and reception: IIItür is mainly of interest to conlang communities, linguists, and speculative-fiction writers. It has not achieved widespread use outside academic or creative contexts, but serves as a case study in plotting, grammar design, and the interaction of phonology with morphology.
