I635

Interstate 635 (I-635) is an auxiliary Interstate Highway in Texas that serves the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. It is officially named the Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway. The highway forms the eastern portion of the Dallas-area beltway, running in a roughly semicircular arc from its southern terminus at I-35E in the southern Dallas area to its northern terminus at I-35E in the northern Dallas area, and it intersects major routes including US 75 (Central Expressway) and I-20. The route facilitates regional through traffic and provides access to residential, commercial, and industrial districts, as well as Dallas-area airports. I-635 is part of the National Highway System and is maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

History and features: The I-635 designation was assigned in the 1960s as the Dallas freeway network expanded.
