Hükümlerdir

Hükümlerdir is a Turkish phrase that most commonly functions as a predicative form meaning “they are convicts.” In Turkish, the noun hükümlü denotes a person who has received a sentence or conviction. The standard plural form of hükümlü is hükümlüler, and the conventional plural-present predicate with a plural subject is hükümlülerdir (for example: Bu kişiler hükümlülerdir, meaning “These people are convicts”). The singular form is hükümlüdür (for example: Bu kişi hükümlüdür, meaning “This person is a convict”).

The form hükümlerdir is not part of standard Turkish morphology for the plural predicate of hükümlü.
