Hønefoss

Hønefoss is a town in Norway, located in Viken county within the municipality of Ringerike. It serves as the administrative center of Ringerike and functions as a regional hub for commerce, services, and light industry in the surrounding district.

The town sits at the head of Tyrifjorden, along the Storelva river, and is associated with the Hønefossen waterfall near the town center. The name Hønefoss means “high falls” in Norwegian, reflecting the presence of the waterfall that is a notable local feature.
