Höyrykaasuseoksia, known in English as vapor-gas mixtures or vapor-air mixtures, refers to a state where a gaseous substance is mixed with the vapor of another substance, often a liquid. This phenomenon is common in various industrial processes, chemical reactions, and everyday occurrences.

The properties of a höyrykaasuseos depend on the individual components and their relative proportions. The flammability of such mixtures is a significant concern in many applications. For a flammable vapor-gas mixture to ignite, it must be within its flammability limits, specifically between the lower explosive limit (LEL) and the upper explosive limit (UEL). Below the LEL, there isn't enough fuel (vapor) to sustain combustion, and above the UEL, there isn't enough oxygen to support it.
