Härkätie
Härkätie, also known as the Ox Road, is an ancient trade route in Finland. Its origins are estimated to date back to the Iron Age, with significant use continuing through the Middle Ages. The route primarily connected the southwestern coastal regions of Finland with its inland areas, and further into the vast territories of Karelia and eventually to Novgorod.
The name Härkätie is believed to derive from the traditional method of transporting goods, often with oxen
Archaeological evidence and historical records suggest that Härkätie followed a path that largely corresponds to modern-day
