Hálfforsetakerfi
Hálfforsetakerfi, meaning "half-presidency system" in Icelandic, is a theoretical form of government that blends elements of both presidential and parliamentary systems. In such a system, a president would be directly elected by the people and would serve as the head of state, possessing significant executive powers. However, unlike a pure presidential system, the president would also be accountable to the legislature. This accountability could manifest in various ways, such as requiring legislative approval for certain appointments or the possibility of impeachment for serious offenses.
Simultaneously, a prime minister, appointed from and responsible to the legislature, would typically lead the government
