Hyönteiskudokset refer to the various tissues that make up the body of an insect. These tissues are specialized for different functions, enabling the complex life cycle and behaviors of insects. The primary tissue types found in insects include epithelial, connective, muscular, nervous, and reproductive tissues.

Epithelial tissues form the outer covering of the insect, known as the cuticle, which provides protection and structural support. They also line internal organs and form glands. Connective tissues bind other tissues and organs together, providing support and filling spaces within the body. Examples include adipose tissue (fat body) and hemocytes, which circulate in the insect's hemolymph.

Muscular tissues are responsible for movement, enabling locomotion, feeding, and other bodily functions. Insect muscles are striated and can contract rapidly. Nervous tissue comprises the insect's central and peripheral nervous systems, including the brain, ganglia, and nerves, which control all physiological and behavioral activities. Reproductive tissues are dedicated to producing gametes for reproduction. The organization and development of these tissues are crucial for insect survival and are often studied in fields like entomology and developmental biology.
