Hysteroscopische

Hysteroscopische refers to a medical procedure called a hysteroscopy. It is a diagnostic and sometimes therapeutic technique that allows a doctor to visualize the inside of the uterus. This is achieved by inserting a thin, lighted instrument called a hysteroscope through the vagina and cervix into the uterine cavity. The hysteroscope has a camera attached, which projects images onto a screen, enabling the physician to examine the uterine lining (endometrium) and the opening of the fallopian tubes.

Hysteroscopy is often performed to investigate abnormal uterine bleeding, such as heavy periods, bleeding between periods, or postmenopausal bleeding. It can also be used to diagnose and treat conditions like uterine fibroids, polyps, adhesions (scar tissue), and certain congenital uterine abnormalities. In some cases, if a polyp or small fibroid is found, it can be removed during the hysteroscopy procedure itself.

The procedure is typically performed in a doctor's office or an outpatient surgical center. It can be done with local anesthesia, sedation, or general anesthesia, depending on the complexity of the procedure and the patient's needs. Recovery time is usually short, with most women able to resume normal activities within a day or two. Potential risks, though rare, include infection, bleeding, and perforation of the uterus.
