Hpattern

Hpattern is a geometric motif used in graphic design and tiling. It describes arrangements of elements that together evoke the shape of the letter H, typically consisting of two vertical strokes connected by a horizontal crossbar. The motif can be built from simple units such as squares or rectangles and repeated to produce a larger pattern across a plane.

Construction commonly starts with a basic H form: two vertical elements joined by a crossbar. Variations include hollow versus solid Hs, single-line versus double-line representations, and crossbars with curved or beveled edges. In tiling, the H motif can be organized on a square lattice or offset between rows to create a staggered effect, allowing diverse tessellations when repeated.
