Hopalong
Hopalong is a fictional character, a cowboy created by Clarence Mulford. The character first appeared in Mulford's short story "The Toughest S.O.B. in the Territory" in 1904, and subsequently in a series of novels. Hopalong Cassidy, as he is most famously known, is depicted as a tall, lean, white-haired man, a former outlaw who has reformed and become a respected rancher and vigilante. His nickname derives from a limp he sustained in a gunfight.
