Hoorimining

Hoorimining is a proposed method for extracting valuable elements from asteroid regolith. Regolith is the layer of loose, unconsolidated rock and dust that covers the surface of asteroids and other celestial bodies. The concept of hoorimining, while not yet a developed or implemented technology, centers on the potential for in-situ resource utilization (ISRU) in space. ISRU aims to use materials found on celestial bodies to support future space missions, reducing the need to transport resources from Earth.

The theoretical process of hoorimining would involve specialized robotic systems deployed to an asteroid's surface. These robots would then excavate and process the regolith.
