Holzständerwände, also known as timber frame walls, are a common construction method for buildings, particularly in North America and Europe. This system utilizes a framework of vertical studs and horizontal beams made of wood to create a rigid structural skeleton. The spaces between these wooden members, called stud bays, are then filled with insulation. The exterior of the wall is typically covered with sheathing, such as oriented strand board (OSB) or plywood, providing shear strength and a surface for exterior finishes like siding or stucco.
