Holininducible

Holininducible is a hypothetical property or process related to the enzyme holin. Holin is a peptide that is involved in regulating cell lysis (cell rupture) in certain types of bacteria. It is part of a larger enzymatic system that includes endolysin, an enzyme responsible for breaking down peptidoglycans.

In the context of holinendolysin regulation, the term holininducible refers to a specific type of holin-induced lysis. In this process, holin is synthesized in response to certain stimuli, such as nutrient deprivation or temperature changes. Once produced, the holin molecule inserts into the bacterial cell wall, where it creates pores through which the endolysin enzyme enters the cell.
