Hintalappiin

Hintalappiin is a municipality located in the region of Western Finland. The municipality covers a vast area of approximately 231 square kilometers, and as of 2016, it has a population of just over 150 people. It is one of the smallest municipalities in Finland by population.

The history of Hintalappiin dates back to the Middle Ages, with archaeological findings suggesting that the area was inhabited as far back as the 14th century. Initially, the area was a part of the larger Hintala parish, but it gained its independence as a separate municipality in the 19th century.

Geographically, Hintalappiin is situated in the eastern part of the region of Ostrobothnia, near the Russian border. The municipality's terrain is characterized by a mix of forests, lakes, and wetlands, which provides a habitat for a variety of wildlife, including bears, wolves, and several species of birds.
