Herbivoreplant is a conceptual term used to describe plant species or communities that are markedly shaped by herbivory. In this view, plant tissues serve as primary food for herbivores such as insects, mammals, and gastropods, and the plant's morphology and chemistry reflect long-standing interactions with those consumers.

Common traits include a spectrum of physical defenses—tough leaves, high lignin content, thorns, and dense trichomes—and chemical defenses such as tannins, alkaloids, or glucosinolates. Some species also exhibit rapid growth, seasonal flushes, or low nutrient use efficiency to recover after damage or to deter further feeding.

Ecologically, herbivoreplants sustain herbivore populations, influence predator–prey dynamics, and contribute to nutrient cycling through herbivore waste and leaf litter. Their defenses can alter feeding habits in insects and mammals, and may trigger tri-trophic interactions that recruit natural enemies of herbivores or protect neighboring plants.
