Heizkörpern
Heizkörpern, commonly known as radiators in English, are a central component of central heating systems. Their primary function is to transfer heat from hot water circulating within them into a room, thereby warming the space. This heat transfer typically occurs through convection and radiation. Hot water, heated by a boiler, flows through the pipes of the Heizkörper, warming the metal surfaces. As the air around the radiator heats up, it becomes less dense and rises, creating a convection current that circulates warm air throughout the room. Simultaneously, the heated surfaces of the radiator emit thermal radiation, which directly warms objects and people in its vicinity.
Heizkörpern come in various designs and materials, with steel and cast iron being the most common. Steel
