Heikkoneutraaluus
Heikkoneutraaluus, also known as weak isospin symmetry, is an approximate symmetry of the strong nuclear force. This symmetry arises because the masses of the up and down quarks are very similar. In the realm of particle physics, the strong force is responsible for binding quarks together to form protons and neutrons, and for holding protons and neutrons together within atomic nuclei. If the up and down quarks had precisely the same mass, the strong force would treat them identically, leading to a perfect symmetry. However, their masses are not identical, with the down quark being slightly heavier than the up quark. This small mass difference causes the symmetry to be approximate rather than exact.
The concept of weak isospin symmetry is an extension of the concept of isospin, which was introduced
