Havgropers

Havgropers are a fictional species native to the planet Xylos, as described in the speculative zoology community. They are described as semi-aquatic invertebrates that inhabit the shallow, mineral-rich seas of their homeworld. Physically, havgropers are characterized by a flexible, segmented body approximately one meter in length, covered in a tough, bioluminescent cuticle. This cuticle allows them to blend in with the seafloor and also serves as a defense mechanism, emitting flashes of light to startle predators.

They possess six multi-jointed appendages, two of which are adapted for grasping and manipulating objects, while the remaining four are used for locomotion across the seabed. Their feeding apparatus consists of a proboscis-like appendage that can extend to siphon nutrients from the mineral deposits and small organisms found in their environment. Havgropers are believed to reproduce asexually through budding, with juvenile havgropers detaching from the parent organism once they reach a certain size. Their lifecycle and social structures are largely unknown, as detailed observations are limited to theoretical models.
