Hastighedsændring

Hastighedsændring, often translated as acceleration, is a fundamental concept in physics describing the rate at which an object's velocity changes. Velocity itself is a vector quantity, meaning it has both magnitude (speed) and direction. Therefore, a hastighedsændring can occur in three ways: an increase in speed, a decrease in speed (often called deceleration), or a change in direction.

Mathematically, average hastighedsændring is defined as the change in velocity divided by the time interval over which that change occurs. If the velocity changes from an initial velocity v_i to a final velocity v_f over a time interval Δt, the average hastighedsændring is a = (v_f - v_i) / Δt.
