Hastelloylajityypit refers to the different grades or variations of Hastelloy alloys. Hastelloy is a registered trademark of Haynes International, Inc., and it encompasses a family of nickel-based superalloys known for their exceptional resistance to corrosion and high temperatures. The specific properties of each Hastelloy alloy type are tailored through variations in their chemical composition, primarily the addition of elements like molybdenum, chromium, tungsten, and iron, along with smaller amounts of other elements.

These different types are developed to perform in demanding environments where other materials would fail. For instance, Hastelloy C-276 is one of the most widely used and is renowned for its broad resistance to both oxidizing and reducing media, as well as its ability to withstand pitting and crevice corrosion. Other common types include Hastelloy B-2, which offers superior resistance to hydrochloric acid, and Hastelloy X, which is favored for its high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance in aerospace applications.

The selection of a specific Hastelloy alloy type depends on the intended application and the corrosive agents it will encounter. Industries such as chemical processing, oil and gas, pulp and paper, and pollution control frequently utilize these advanced alloys for equipment like reactors, heat exchangers, piping, and pumps.
