HarvesterNavistar was a major American manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks, primarily known for its commercial and industrial vehicles. The company emerged from the merger of two prominent truck manufacturers: International Harvester and Navistar International Transportation Corporation. International Harvester, originally founded in 1860 as the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company, became a leading producer of agricultural machinery before expanding into trucks and buses in the early 20th century. Navistar, formed in 1986 through the merger of White Motor Company and Kenworth, specialized in heavy-duty trucks and diesel engines.
