HartbergFürstenfeld

HartbergFürstenfeld was a district in the Austrian state of Styria. It was formed in 2013 by the merger of the former districts of Hartberg and Fürstenfeld. The district was located in the eastern part of Styria, bordering Hungary to the east. Its capital was Hartberg, with Fürstenfeld also serving as a significant administrative center. The district was characterized by rolling hills, vineyards, and agricultural landscapes.

The economy of HartbergFürstenfeld was largely based on agriculture, with a strong focus on wine production and pumpkin seed oil. Tourism also played a role, attracting visitors with its natural beauty and historical sites. The former districts had a rich history, with evidence of settlement dating back to prehistoric times. In 2015, as part of a Styrian administrative reform, HartbergFürstenfeld was merged with the districts of Weiz and Südoststeiermark to form the new district of Südoststeiermark.
