Haranism

Haranism refers to a proposed religious or philosophical system attributed to the biblical figure Haran, the father of Lot, Abram, and Nahor, as mentioned in the Book of Genesis. While Genesis provides biographical details about Haran, it does not describe any distinct religious beliefs or practices attributed to him that would constitute a formal "Haranism."

The concept of Haranism is primarily an area of scholarly and theological discussion rather than a documented historical or religious movement. Scholars have sometimes speculated about the potential religious or cultural context of Haran's family, particularly in relation to early Abrahamic traditions. These discussions often explore the possibility that Haran, or his lineage, might have held particular theological views or customs that influenced the development of later monotheistic religions.

However, there is no direct textual evidence within the Hebrew Bible or other ancient Near Eastern sources that defines or describes Haranism as a separate religious tradition.
