Hangrobbanást

Hangrobbanást is the Hungarian term for a sonic boom. A sonic boom is the sound associated with shock waves created when an object, such as an aircraft, travels through the air faster than the speed of sound. This speed is known as the Mach 1 threshold. As the object exceeds the speed of sound, it creates pressure waves that cannot get out of the way of the object. These waves then coalesce into a shock wave. This shock wave radiates outward from the object in a cone shape. When this cone intersects the ground, it is heard as a distinct "boom" or a double boom, depending on the shape of the object and its flight path. The intensity of the sonic boom depends on factors such as the size and shape of the object, its altitude, and atmospheric conditions. While often associated with military aircraft, commercial supersonic transports, if developed and operated, would also produce sonic booms. The phenomenon is a natural consequence of exceeding the speed of sound in a fluid medium.
