Halogenoidut is a fictional genus of halophilic microorganisms used in educational and speculative contexts to illustrate adaptations to extreme saline environments. The name is constructed from a hal- prefix, derived from Greek halos meaning salt, combined with a coined suffix to evoke taxonomic naming conventions.

In fictional taxonomy, Halogenoidut is placed within the family Halogonaceae, order Halogonales, and class Halogonophyta. This lineage is not recognized by real taxonomic authorities; it is used only in illustrative materials.

Morphology and physiology are depicted as unicellular organisms, typically a few micrometres in diameter, ranging from spherical to slightly ovoid shapes. The cell envelope may be described as flexible or coated with a polysaccharide layer. Pigments resembling chlorophylls and carotenoids give a pale to golden appearance in drawings.

Halogenoidut is said to inhabit hypersaline environments such as salt pans, saline lakes, and coastal brines. In these settings it is portrayed as a primary producer or as a chemoorganotroph depending on the source, with high tolerance to UV radiation and desiccation.
