Halbzylinders

Halbzylinders are a geometric shape derived from a cylinder. Imagine a standard cylinder and then cut it precisely in half along a plane that passes through its axis. The resulting solid is a halbzylinder. This means it has a curved surface and two flat surfaces. One flat surface is a rectangle, formed by the cutting plane. The other flat surface is a semicircle, which is half of the circular base of the original cylinder. The dimensions of a halbzylinder are typically described by its radius (the radius of the original cylinder's base) and its height (the height of the original cylinder).

The volume of a halbzylinder is exactly half the volume of a full cylinder with the same radius and height. The formula for the volume of a cylinder is pi * r^2 * h, where r is the radius and h is the height. Therefore, the volume of a halbzylinder is (1/2) * pi * r^2 * h.
