Göschenen

Göschenen is a municipality in the canton of Uri in Switzerland. It is located at the northern entrance to the Gotthard Base Tunnel, the world's longest railway tunnel. The village is situated in the narrow Göschenen Valley, at the confluence of the Göschener Reuss and the Dätwylreuss rivers.

The history of Göschenen is closely linked to the Gotthard Pass, a crucial transalpine route. For centuries, travelers and goods passed through the valley.
