Gällmedel

Gällmedel refers to a broad category of chemical substances used to promote the flocculation or coagulation of suspended particles in a liquid. These particles are often very small and dispersed, remaining suspended due to electrostatic repulsion or Brownian motion. Gällmedel work by neutralizing these charges or bridging particles together, forming larger aggregates called flocs. These flocs are then more easily removed from the liquid through processes like sedimentation, flotation, or filtration.

The effectiveness of a gällmedel depends on several factors, including the type of suspended particles, the pH of the liquid, the temperature, and the concentration of the gällmedel itself.
