Gyógyszerkönyvvel

Gyógyszerkönyvvel is the Hungarian term for a pharmacopoeia. A pharmacopoeia is an official publication containing directions for the identification of compound medicines, and published by the authority of a government or a medical or pharmaceutical society. It contains a list of medicinal drugs along with their formulas, methods of preparation, and relevant information on quality control and standardization. Pharmacopoeias are essential for ensuring the quality, safety, and efficacy of pharmaceutical products.

The first Hungarian pharmacopoeia was published in 1871, following the tradition of many European countries that established their own national pharmacopoeias. Over the years, it has undergone numerous revisions to keep pace with advancements in pharmaceutical science and technology. The current Hungarian Pharmacopoeia, known as *Magyar Gyógyszerkönyv*, is regularly updated to reflect international standards and new drug developments. It serves as a legal document and a primary reference for pharmacists, pharmaceutical manufacturers, regulatory bodies, and healthcare professionals in Hungary.

The content of a pharmacopoeia typically includes monographs for individual drugs and preparations. Each monograph details the drug's chemical structure, physical and chemical properties, identification tests, assay methods, limits for impurities, and storage conditions. Furthermore, pharmacopoeias often contain general chapters on pharmaceutical techniques, analytical methods, and guidelines for the safe handling of medicines. Compliance with the pharmacopoeia is mandatory for all medicinal products marketed in Hungary, ensuring a consistent level of quality and safety for patients.
