In meteorology and geoscience, ground-based weather stations, seismic networks, and environmental sensors provide on-site measurements. In computing and networking, the term may describe on-premises or on-site infrastructure as distinct from cloud-based or satellite-based architectures, though the English terms "on-premises" or "on-site" are more common there.
