Gravitätsfüllung

Gravitätsfüllung, also known as gravity filling, is a method of packaging liquids or powders into containers without the use of external pressure or pumps. The process relies solely on the force of gravity to move the product from a reservoir into the container. This technique is often employed for products that are sensitive to pressure, such as certain food items, beverages, or pharmaceuticals.

In a typical gravity filling setup, a supply tank holds the product at a height above the filling nozzles. When a container is positioned beneath a nozzle, a valve is opened, allowing the product to flow downwards into the container due to the gravitational pull. The fill level is usually controlled by the duration of the fill cycle or by a mechanism that cuts off the flow once a predetermined volume or level is reached. Gravitätsfüllung is generally a simple and cost-effective filling method, suitable for a wide range of container types and sizes. Its gentle nature makes it ideal for viscous liquids or fragile solids.
