Gravitationslentäminen
Gravitationslentäminen, often translated as gravitational lensing, is a phenomenon predicted by Albert Einstein's theory of general relativity. It occurs when a massive object, such as a galaxy or a cluster of galaxies, distorts spacetime around it. This distortion acts like a lens, bending the path of light from more distant objects that pass behind it. As a result, the light from the background object is magnified, distorted, or even appears in multiple images.
The bending of light by gravity was first observed by Arthur Eddington during a solar eclipse in
Astronomers use gravitational lensing as a powerful tool in astrophysics. It allows them to study distant galaxies
