Gothmogs

Gothmogs are large, powerful dire wolves that serve as mounts for the orc leaders in the Warcraft universe. They are known for their loyalty and strength, making them ideal companions for battle. Gothmogs are easily recognizable by their distinctive appearance, featuring a black and white coat with a prominent scar above their left eye. This scar is said to be a result of a battle with the inspired automaton of Uldaman, leading to their name which roughly translates to '应当者' in ancient orcish, meaning 'one who should have suffered".

In the lore of Warcraft, Gothmogs have a long history of serving as mounts for orc warlords. They are depicted as being incredibly fiercely loyal to their riders, going to great lengths to protect and assist them. This loyalty is not limited to the orc leaders they serve, as Gothmogs have also been known to aid other members of their faction when in need. Despite their size and strength, Gothmogs are incredibly agile and are often seen performing impressive feats of acrobatics during battles.

Throughout the Warcraft series, several notable characters have been depicted with Gothmogs as their mounts. Perhaps the most well-known of these is Grommash Hellscream, a primary antagonist in the World of Warcraft expansion 'The Shattered Isles' of 'Call of the Nightborne'. Grommash's bond with his Gothmog is a central part of his character, and the two are often seen working together to devastating effect on the battlefield.
