GornoAltai

Gorno-Altai, officially the Altai Republic, is a federal subject of Russia. It is located in the southernmost part of Western Siberia and is part of the Siberian Federal District. The republic's administrative center is the city of Gorno-Altaysk. Gorno-Altai is characterized by its stunning mountainous terrain, which forms the western and northwestern parts of the Altai Mountains.

The economy of the republic is largely based on natural resources, agriculture, and tourism. Mining, particularly of gold and other precious metals, is an important industry.
