Gomorrah
Gomorrah, also spelled Gomorra in Italian, refers primarily to the biblical city of the plain destroyed by God along with Sodom, according to the Book of Genesis. The cities’ exact location is uncertain and their historicity is a matter of religious interpretation and archaeology, but the term has entered common usage as a symbol of corruption and vice.
