Glykosidit
Glykosidit, known in English as glycosides, are a class of organic compounds found widely in nature. Each molecule consists of a sugar residue linked via a glycosidic bond to a non-sugar moiety called an aglycone or genin. The glycosidic bond can be either alpha or beta, depending on the spatial orientation of the attachment. This structure allows glycosides to act as storage forms of sugars or as bioactive compounds with a range of physiological effects.
The aglycone part of a glykosid determines its chemical and biological properties. Glycosides are commonly classified
Glykosidit occur naturally in a variety of plants, such as gentian roots, atropa belladonna, and foxglove, where
